Autism Awareness Walk a Thon...

NEW LOCATION
THIS YEARS 4TH ANNUAL AUTISM WALK A THON WILL BE HELD AT
KESLING PARK ON "A" STREET
LAPORTE INDIANA
KATHY CHROBACK, LA PORTE MAYOR,
TO CUT RIBBON TO BEGIN WALK
*NATIONAL CELEBRITY TO ATTEND WALK
Mike Fout, a senior at La Porte High School is a runner, a national cross country champion, a budding international celebrity and worker
at the:
4th Annual Autism Awareness Walk-a-Thon.. He along with teammates and coach, Tim Beres will be helping with the 5K Run.

Fout is the first Indiana runner ever to win the boys national cross country championship. Since he won the Foot Locker National High School Cross Country championship last December, the humble Slicer senior has found himself at the center of a publicity hurricane within the running community.
His picture ran in Sports Illustrated. Running publications call and ask for interviews. Internet sites speculate about his training, and fans he has never met post videos of him on You Tube.
And everybody, virtually everybody, wants a piece of him. We have him, and we are pleased to let people know. Fout is headed to Florida State University next fall on a track and cross country scholarship, but on April 26, 2008, he will be at the Autism Walk at Kesling Park here in La Porte. Come and run with a celebrity and help support autism awareness at the same time.
Mike is quoted as saying:
"I think I'm pretty much the same guy I was before, at least people tell me that I am," he added. "The attention is kind of cool, really. I think a lot of people know where La Porte is now. But when I get to college, I don't think many runners will care that I was a national champ. I will still have to work hard and earn my spot."
